“Sundays with Mr. Schnauzer”
🐾Who doesn’t love a dog with a little personality?! You know the type… wise beyond their years, welcoming to all, somehow the leader of the family despite being on all fours. But they love their bed or spot on the couch and if they were human, you’d probably find them listening to NPR, quietly rocking on their porch in the evenings nursing a tea, a beer or cigar or pipe, and maybe even thumbing through an old fashioned paper newspaper.
🐾Painting this guy was like painting a familiar friend, cherished grandpa, or beloved small town or church patriarch. You look at him and you just immediately love him and want to take in all the wisdom he has to offer.
🐾Although Jock from Disney’s “Lady and the Tramp” is a Scottish terrier, as I painted “Mr. Schnauzer” I often thought of Jock and what these two might converse about.
🐾I hope this sweet fellow brings a smile to your face and maybe even reminds you of someone close to your heart.
